Appointments

Appointments

Appointments can be booked via telephone, in person at the front desk or via the online booking system (please contact reception to register for this service)

Routine appointments are available every day am & pm. Medical Emergency appointments are available every day am & pm if you need an urgent appointment you will be seen as soon as possible on that day. Please help the receptionists by telling them whether or not your problem is urgent.

The surgery is open continuously from 8am – 6pm for telephone calls

Doctors are available for telephone advice throughout the day depending on urgency.

The GP’s consult between 9am and 11 45am and again from 2pm to 5.30pm If you have not been seen at the surgery in the last 5 years (or one year for those over 75) you can request a check up appointment if you wish.

Access to Doctors/Nurses

We provide 10 minute appointments and 48 hour access ( which means within 2 working days) to see a doctor or nurse as appropriate .

Urgent appointments are available every day both am & pm for medical emergencies.

Please make a separate appointment for each person who needs a consultation.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone before 10am.  A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.  House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit.  There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients in the Surgery.

Training Practice

Medical students from Glasgow University Medical School are often attached to the practice for an introduction to general practice as part of their degree course. You should be advised of the presence of a medical student at the time of booking your appointment. If at any time you do not wish a medical student to be present during a particular consultation, the doctor will of course respect your wishes.

When we are closed

Should you require medical attention when we are closed i.e outwith normal surgery hours of Monday-Friday 8am -6pm or at the weekend, GP assistance is available via NHS 24 on 111.  However Out of hours is generally very busy so please think carefully about requesting to see a Doctor and only do so if you are genuinely unwell and unable to wait until the surgery reopens.

In a medical emergency please dial 999 – Chest pain and /or acute shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
